This Thursday, we are welcoming a very exciting special guest into the DreamExtreme classroom: America’s original First Lady, Martha Washington!

With the amazing help of the Medford School District technology department and the Southern Oregon ESD, we will be teleconferencing with Mount Vernon, the Washington’s estate in Virginia.

Living biographer Mary Wiseman will be portraying Mrs. Washington and telling students what the first lady’s life was like after the Revolutionary War. Our students have been studying about Martha’s life and crafting questions to ask during the teleconference session.

In addition to welcoming Martha Washington into our classroom through the video link, we will also visited by some other important individuals. Kennedy Elementary School principal, Mrs. Janis Shade, and the Medford School District Director of Elementary Education, Mr. Rich Miles will be sitting in on the session.

This is an amazing opportunity given to us by the educational outreach department at Mount Vernon, and we are hoping it will be the first of many videoconference sessions with Kennedy Elementary classes in the years to come.
